Break out the bikes, kayaks and paddleboards and lace up your running shoes, Richmond. Sports Backers and Venture Richmond have announced that Dominion has renewed a three-year commitment to continue its title sponsorship of Dominion Riverrock, the nation’s largest outdoor sports and music festival.
“Dominion’s partnership is so much more than sponsorship funds,” said Jon Lugbill, Sports Backers’ Executive Director. “Each year since its inception, Dominion employee volunteers have distributed water at both of the event’s running races, the company’s meteorology team has provided highly accurate weather information, and Dominion Green Power has purchased renewable energy certificates (RECs) to help green the event. Dominion is a solid community partner in this event in so many ways.”
Taking place along the urban riverfront of Richmond's James River, the fifth annual Dominion Riverrock festival is scheduled for May 17-19, 2013. Online registration for 2013 Dominion Riverrock events is now open. More information can be found at Dominionriverrock.com.
Dominion Riverrock was designed to promote Richmond’s unique riverfront, downtown biking, hiking and running trails and whitewater rapids. The East Coast’s premier outdoor lifestyle festival, Riverrock features a wide variety of outdoor sports such as trail running, kayaking, slacklining, stand-up paddleboarding, biking, bouldering and dog jumping.
The three-day event brings athletes, musicians, spectators and dogs to the downtown urban riverfront of Brown’s Island. Read a bit about the 2012 Dominion Riverrock event by clicking right here.
