Dominika Cibulkova and Eugenie Bouchard both stumbling since Australian Open

Since the Australian Open about a month ago, finalist Dominika Cibulkova and semi-finalist Eugenie Bouchard have not been able to keep the momentum going. The latest trip has seen both rising tennis stars losing in the first round of the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

Last week in Fed Cup action when Germany beat Slovakia 3-0, Cibulkova lost to Angelique Kerber in the clincher and was upset by Andrea Petkovic in earlier singles action.

Bouchard fared better in Canada's Fed Cup victory by downing Serbia's Vesna Dolonc 6-0, 6-3 before the recent Doha loss to American Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

Both players have had some distractions since the Australian Open. Slovakian Cibulkova has started her own fashion line called "DOMI". In her home city of Bratislava, Cibulkova kicked off the collection which includes shirts and hats with her image.

Fashion has also been in Bouchard's plans which included a recent photo shoot for Flare magazine which features the Canadian nineteen year-old in several styles and settings.

Speaking of Bouchard, Stacey Allaster, chief executive of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), tells the BBC business website,

"She is an incredibly talented athlete, and a very marketable brand ambassador for any company that wants to get involved with her."I do believe that with her winning form and continued success that many brands will look to Genie for partnerships."

Hopefully, both Cibulkova and Bouchard will regain the winning form of the Australian Open and find success off and on the tennis court.
