#DomaStruckDown Celebs React to Supreme Court Ruling on Twitter

Today is a historic day. The US Supreme Court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act, commonly referred to as DOMA, was unconstitutional. Many activists are thrilled that DOMA was struck down by the Court. Celebs are reacting to the ruling via Twitter. Many of whom worked tirelessly with non-profits to fight against a bill that was believed to be a violation of human rights. The Court agreed.

“Historic day. Well done #SCOTUS.” was Leonardo DiCaprio's response.

“Down w DOMA! Something to be very proud of this upcoming July 4th. We are making beautiful progress for Equality! #proud,” claimed Adam Lambert.

“If you're gay married in California your gay marriage is now legal. Good. #allmarriageisabitgay,” tweeted Russell Brand.

“It's a supremely wonderful day for equality. Prop 8 is over, and so is DOMA. Congratulations everyone. And I mean everyone,” claimed Ellen DeGeneres on Twitter.

Kevin Bacon tweeted, “Great news today!! #domafail #prop8.”

Ricki Lake took time to Tweet, “I smell some fabulous wedding invites in my future. #equality #doma.”

John Stamos joked, “I'm so happy about today's decision I could kiss a man!” Stamos also included an Instagram photo of himself kissing a man.

It appears that celebs are thrilled with #DomaStruckDown.
