The fallout from the Miami Dolphin fiasco is starting to rear its ugly head. According to Sportsline.com on Wednesday, the Dolphins announced that offensive line coach Jim Turner has been fired. It should be noted that the Dolphins also fired head athletic trainer, Kevin O’Neill.
Once the Ted Wells report was released, it was evident that heads would roll, but it’s not clear how far the Dolphins organization will go.
Owner Stephen Ross released a statement after reviewing the report. It’s safe to say he was not happy with the findings and how the Dolphins’ leaders dealt with the team dynamic. Due to poor judgment, certain members of the organization had to go.
"The language and behavior as described in the Ted Wells report are against the core values of our organization," Ross said in a statement. "After receiving the report, I conducted my own internal review of the facts to determine the appropriate steps for our organization. Jim Turner and Kevin O'Neill are good people who care a great deal about their profession and the players whom they serve, but both exhibited poor judgment at times which led me to this conclusion."
Leading up to the ruling, Richie Incognito blasted Jonathan Martin for ruining his career, and we saw the depth of his relationship with his Dolphins’ teammate. Incognito continued to blast Martin on Twitter, then disappeared for a couple days.
However, Incognito came back to apologize for lashing out, and revealed his frustration was with the prospects of not playing in the NFL again.
