The Dolph Ziggler de-push is apparently on. According to F4WOnline.com, Ziggler was scheduled to win the title against Rey Mysterio at Night of Champions and again prior to Rey’s suspension, but Rey politicked out of it. Ziggler also was to win the Intercontinental Title from John Morrison at each of the past two Pay Per Views, but despite great matches, the finishes were changed to keep the belt on Morrison each time.
As I posted about yesterday, WWE always does this to new, hot talents. The idea is to put them through adversity to see if they can maintain their composure and their heat. Guys like CM Punk have succeeded after this demotion, while MVP has never quite gotten back to where he was. Hopefully, Ziggler, arguably the best homemade WWE product of this current group, will succeed, as he’s a very good wrestler with all the intangibles to succeed.
