Dolly Parton could easily be called the Queen of the Smokies, if not the Queen of Tennessee. Her music is now classic, her theme park, Dollywood, is a vacation destination known worldwide, and her look is unmistakably Dolly. Dolly Parton has had a lot of looks over the years, but the basic components have not changed: big blonde wigs, heavy makeup, and tight glitzy clothes on a small frame with an unproportionately large bust. This video gives you a glimpse at some of those looks.
Dolly Parton has become almost a fairy godmother to the people of Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg,Tennessee. Besides the tax base and jobs that Dollywood provides, she has been very generous in giving back to her hometown in many ways, most notably her reading initiative, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. She has provided quality books to children in the Sevierville area, encouraging an increase in literacy in the state. The program is now available to all communmities that are willing to partner with Dolly. The details are here.
