Dolly Parton wrote the cover story about herself entitled, 'Dolly's Dreams: What Keeps This American Icon Young' in the June 2014 issue of Guideposts magazine.

Dolly was born in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. She has eleven siblings. She got her first guitar from her uncle Louis. When Dolly graduated from high school, she knew she wanted to go to Nashville and become a star. She worked hard to make her dreams come true.

Dolly writes songs, makes music, goes on tours, and has built the Dollywood family amusement park and Dollywood's DreamMore Resort. Through Imagination Library, she has given more than 50 million free books to children who need them.

In the article, Dolly also wrote about her faith in God and the book The Power of Positive Thinking by Reverend Dr. Norman Vincent Peale which inspired her to think big, dream big, and pray big.
