Legendary country singer Dolly Parton hit the airwaves this morning to make a big announcement. The singer / actress/ entrepreneur told the press her Dollywood theme park is launching a new rollar coaster "The FireChaser Express". The park, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is celebrating its 29th season says Dolly. The new ride is themed like the 1940's firefighters in remembrance of the volunteer firefighters in the Smokey Mountains.
Dolly told press "It's a wonderful ride tailor made for families so the little kids can ride along with their parents or their brothers and sisters, adding "The coaster is different from some other popular coasters in that "It runs forward and then halfway through it runs backwards". The always candid Dolly let it slip that she her self has most likely not been on the coaster when she said "They tell me ever ones enjoying it so ya'll need to come ride it with me sometime!"
She also plugged her new upcoming album release titled Blue Smoke, and announced she will be appearing on The Today Show May 13. She has not appeared in concert on the show for many years but says when she did she "had a ball". So look for Dolly Parton at Dollywood on her new coaster, in concert on May 13, and on record stores near you this spring!
