Dolesh named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

The 2011 soccer season is off to a great start for the RedHawks, who opened the year with a pair of 4-0 victories over IUPUI and Morehead State. For her part in those wins, sophomore Katy Dolesh was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first time she has won the award in her career.

Dolesh scored not one, but two goals in Friday's win over IUPUI, accounting for the second and final goals of the contest. On Sunday against Morehead State she recorded an assist on Kelsey Dinges' goal (the first of the day for Miami) before tallying the 'Hawks final score of the day on a penalty kick. That makes for a seven-point weekend, for those of you keeping track at home. Not a bad way to start the season!

The RedHawks (2-0) will return to action this weekend against Xavier (0-2) and Eastern Kentucky (0-1).
