Doing local beer right

On Thursday, April 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Atlas Brewing Company will be hosting their first Local Beer Showcase. Six other Chicagoland breweries will be onsite for an all-out evening of great craft beer. In addition to Atlas, 18th Street Brewery, Spiteful Brewing, Flesk Brewing Company, Begyle Brewing Company, Dryhop Brewers, and Lake Effect Brewing Company will all be attending.

However, their beers won't just be on tap. Each of the breweries will have staff on-site pouring their beers and speaking with local beer enthusiasts. Want to know about the hop profile in that IPA? You'll get your answer. Want to know what strain of yeast was used in that ESB? That's right, you'll get you answer.

Events like these highlight how close-knit the brewing community is. They build camaraderie and show everyone what the craft beer movement is all about.

Tickets aren't on sale just yet, but if you head to the Atlas Brewing Company Facebook page and RSVP, you'll be the first to know.
