Dogs and their people can enjoy a special event, the Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade being held on Sat., Oct. 12, 2013 at the Meineke Recreation Center in Schaumburg, in the western suburbs of Chicago, Ill. This dog-friendly event combines the fun of dressing your dog up in costume with the chance to mingle with like-minded pet lovers.
Pups can have fun with Halloween at the Halloween Howl, a pet parade and a time for tricks and free play. Dogs should come in costume, dressed to impress and ready to be judged for the most unique costume. Activities include a dog agility course, fun tricks competition, a pooch parade and an area for free play. The first 50 dogs will receive a special Halloween treat.
Dogs must be current with shots, so attach records to the registration form or bring records bring to Meineke Center. The Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade is held by the Schaumburg Park District.
The event fee for residents is $2 per person and $5 per dog. Non-resident fee is $3 per person and $7 per dog.

The Schaumburg Park District will be hosting a number of Halloween events this season, including Family Pumpkin Carving on Oct. 19, A Haunting in the Valley on Oct. 25-26 and the Halloween Boonanza on Oct. 30.
