Officials in Texarkana, Ark., are reaching out to the public for help after an animal shelter was broken into and multiple dogs, and a cat, were stolen, reported Tuesday's KTBS News.

The young males who broke into the Texarkana Animal Care & Adoption Center took five pit bulls, a cat and a good deal of supplies, including seven-in-one shots and dog food.

The suspects were captured on surveillance and according to the animal shelter, a $1,000 reward has been offered for information which leads to the individuals' arrest and conviction.

Over the course of the last two months, this same facility has been broke into five times and nine pit bulls have disappeared - the shelter employees believe that all of the break-ins are all related.

Connie Slater, Executive Director, Animal Care and Adoption Center told KTBS News:

This has left us devastated, we're just praying for a safe return of our pets,

I'm concerned that they are training these dogs to dog fight, that's why we are really begging the public to step up and help because we can see this being a very bad situation.

Anyone with information is asked to phone the Texarkana (Arkansas) Police Department - link to phone numbers here.
