Models, dressed by Tysons Galleria, are also fundraisers for the event. One of the top F4P fundraisers so far this year has an especially heartwarming story.

Lauren Talarico, neurologist/neurosurgeon at VCA Southpaws Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center, will be walked down the runway by one of her patients, a formerly paralyzed Yorkie, Lavender Lehr. After a severe neck injury, Lavender needed weeks of intense neurological treatments to regain the ability to walk.

Dr. Talarico's own dog, Raesynette, is undergoing chemotherapy, and is too weak to join "Team Lauren and Lavender". L&L have raised more than $13,000 so far.

Another top model is Denise Willard, who has brought in more than $18,000 so far. She'll be strutting with her two rescue dogs Jake and Eddie. They debuted in the 2012 F4P.

Leading the pack is Jessica Abrahams, who has raised about $22,000 so far. She'll be walking the runway with her three Kerry Blue Terriers, Fiona, Sophie, and Gilly.

Also at the event, a new canine haute-couture label Regal & Pooch will debut its spring fashion line. The "Jacket Onassis", a dog jacket dipped in pearls, is just one of the R&P designs by owner Mallory Hancock. Gold lined collars and cashmere blankets are other regal products.

Hancock's doggie silver lamé hoodie was worn by her Pomeranian, Moosey, at the Washington Humane Society's "Sugar & Champagne" fundraiser last February.

Other designs will be from Hec-lin Couture for Dogs by Roberto Negrin. He has four rescue dogs -- and is also a dog event planner in New York City.

The event is at Washington's Omni Shoreham Hotel (where the Beatles stayed for their first U.S. concert 50 years ago last February). The hotel is preparing the three-course dinner, plus hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened," wrote Anatole France.
