Does your dog love water? Brohard Paw Park and beach is a great place to take your dog to romp on the beach and enjoy the sand, water and companionship of other dogs. The park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to dusk and parking is free. It is located at 1999 Harbor Dr. S. in Venice, Florida across from the Venice airport. This is the only dog beach in the area.
Next to the parking lot is a fenced area where your dog can run free and play with other dogs. The park has dog drinking fountains, showers and decks for dogs only as well as fire hydrants and leash posts. There are two fenced areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. There are some other amenities such as dog waste bags and receptacles, picnic tables, restrooms, benches and drinking fountains for humans too.
Take a stroll past the gates and fenced in area and you will head toward the beach. There is a paved walkway that takes you directly to the 300 foot section of beach that allows dogs. Dogs are allowed off leash but it is the owner’s responsibility to supervise their dog at all times and clean up after them if they make a mess. You will see dogs running freely, playing Frisbee, catching a ball, digging holes in the sand and just enjoying their day.
