According to the Mail Tribune, last week three dogs died after being left inside of a truck in Klamath County, Ore., for several hours.

The tragedy, which claimed the lives of three Rottweilers, took place last Monday in the parking lot of a restaurant in Chiloquin - a good Samaritan attempted to save the dogs from the truck, but after being locked in the vehicle for an estimated four hours, it was too late.

The Klamath County Animal Control cited a 65-year-old Eagle Point woman with three counts of animal cruelty; the woman's name has not yet been released. The woman claimed to have gone into the restaurant to make phone calls.

On the day of the incident, the outdoor temperature was in the 80s - after just a short period of time, the interior vehicle temperature was likely over the century mark.

When and if the woman is actually charged, her name will be released.
