The Hollister Dog Owners Group is holding their 4th annual Dog Days of Hollister event on June 9, 2012 from 10 am - 4 pm at Dunne Park in Hollister. Now is the time to pick up applications to enter your dog in the Pooch Parade Costume Contest and Doggie Contests that celebrate the joys of being a dog.
Throughout the event responsible dog ownership will be highlighted through fun activities that are geared towards bringing public awareness about the wonderful rewards and many responsiblities relating to dog ownership.
Prizes will be awarded in these categories: best bark, so ugly they're cute, waggiest tail, dog and person look-alikes, funniest trick, most unique costume. A King and Queen of Dog Days will also be crowned.
A section of the event will be called "Rescue Row" where non-profit dog rescue groups will have tables along with vendors and doggie demonstrations.
Well-behaved dogs over 6 months of age are welcome to the event. Tickets are $5 for adults but $3 with a donation of dog food. Children 12 and under are free.
