Dogs are in the spotlight at Malabar Farm's Malabark in the Park event

Malabar Farm in Lucas, Ohio is offering visitors the chance to experience some quality time with their pets at their special dog adventure event, Malabark in the Park, being held on Saturday, May 17. Lucas, Ohio is approximately a one hour, 25 minute drive from Cleveland.

Malabark in the Park Dogs will be showcased all day at this fun, family-friendly, interactive event that will feature many doggie activities, demonstrations, displays and competitions.

Taking place on the grounds of author Louis Bromfield's Malabar Farm, one of the highlights of the Malabark in the Park event will be the Pooch Parade, open to all breeds and visitors, featuring Bromfield's beloved boxers.

Food will be available for purchase and there will be vendors on hand selling dog products.

Hours for the Malabark in the Park event are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is free but there is a small fee for some of the activities.

For those interested in making this a weekend event, La Quinta Inn & Suites in nearby Mansfield (approximately 5 miles) is a pet friendly hotel. Rates start at $75 per night and there is no pet fee. While at Malabar Farm, check out their Spring Plowing Days event taking place on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. Visitors will be able to watch horses from the local Draft Horse Club demonstrate their plowing skills. There will also be fun contests that visitors can participate in.

The Spring Plowing Days event will take place at the Working Farm area of Malabar Farm from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
