Doggie U's 2nd Annual BARK-B-Que!

After last year’s howling success, and many attendees have been asking if Doggie U is hosting the Bark-B-Que again, Doggie U K9 Academy, in Bay Shore, NY, is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Doggie U ‘Bark-B-Que!’ Held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 11am to 5pm at their 13,000 air-conditioned square foot facility in Bay Shore, NY. Last year’s event brought dog owners from all areas of Long Island including people from New York City, Brooklyn, and Queens all who traveled with their dogs in their best BBQ outfit!

This year dog owners can beat the heat of the dog days of summer and head to Doggie U for this BBQ that has gone to the dogs! The event will feature vendors, raffles, and all kinds of activities for dogs and their owners to participate in. Doggie activities will include games like: ‘musical sit,’ (you know the doggie version of musical chairs!), ‘Red light green light 123,’ (yes for the dogs-people had a blast last year doing this!), ‘bobbing for tennis balls,’ the fastest recall, - dogs that come to their owners the fastest when called - the best ‘Speak,’ or shall we say ‘best Bark’ and more! Dog owners will also have the opportunity to take a ‘walk through’ with their pup in the Agility, obedience and rally rings – of course with experts on hand to guide them through each ring.

Guests can bring their pooches dressed in his or her best Beach bikini, Bermuda shorts, Jimmy Buffet outfit or sarong! There will also be food and refreshments served for the humans – this is a BBQ after all. Goody bags will be given, while supplies last, to ‘Bark-B-Que’ attendees.

The cost for the event is $25 per adult, $12 per senior, $12 per child 12-18 and kids under 12 are free! The price includes food and refreshments, goody bags while supplies last and dogs come free. Tickets can be purchased online at: For vendor information contact Doggie U K9 Academy at (631) 968-7972 or by email at
