A dog with a human face is up for adoption, but the adorable pooch with the soulful brown eyes and human-like expression probably won't be available for long. Thanks to a Feb. 5, 2013 report by Gawker, Tonik, the creepy yet irresistible poodle/Shih Tzu mix is getting attention from thousands of potential adoptive owners.
Meet Tonik: See photo and profile here.
It isn't clear how the dog with a human face came up for adoption. Tonik somehow made his way to a kill shelter in Kentucky, but he has been relocated to a no-kill shelter in Indiana where he can await his new owners at his leisure. However, with all the publicity surrounding his special, humanoid face, he shouldn't be waiting long.
Tonik's new owner will need to pick him up from the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in person, but this Internet sensation is worth the trip. If you are looking for a new pet, a dog with a human face for adoption, for example, check out your local animal shelter. There's sure to be an animal there that meets your needs, even if it isn't quite as unusual as Tonik.
