According to Tuesday's Fox 10 News, a small dog who hurled from a van in the west valley region of Phoenix, Ariz., has been put down.
The Chihuahua was discovered by Jarvis Johnson, who saw something get tossed out of a moving vehicle.
Johnson described what he found after going to investigate:
I was trying to figure out what was going on at that time. I went around the corner, came over here, saw the dog tied up with the cord around his neck and the cord to his leg."
We sat out here for a while, hoping somebody would come back. Like almost like, hey, I'm sorry I did this, you know. I wanna make things right.. and no one ever came back,"
Nobody came to retrieve the discarded dog so Jarvis phoned the police, who came to transport the injured pup to an emergency veterinarian.
Unfortunately, the injuries to the dog were extensive; the impact had left the pup with fractures to his spine and pelvis and his legs were only partially functional.
According to the Arizona Humane Society, on Tuesday, the decision was made to euthanize the dog.
Police are hoping to find whoever is responsible for this cruel act - anyone with information is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
