Dog who survived run in with train in Florida gets a home

Earlier this week, the miraculous survival story of a dog fittingly named "Miracle" was shared. That dog had somehow, against all odds, survived being struck by a vehicle and then run over by a train.

Amazingly, though slightly injured, she was mostly unscathed by two events which very well could have ended her life.

Following her frightening encounters, Miracle was taken to the Broward County Adoption Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Though Miracle's close-encounters were nothing short of astounding, things could have ended poorly at the shelter. Adult dogs, even with a tragic story, do not always find their happily ever after.

Not so for this amazing Chocolate Labrador mix.

According to Local 10 News, one couple in Fort Lauderdale was more than astounded by what Miracle had survived. They were also compelled to provide her with a new home.

On Thursday afternoon, Nichole O'Neal and Neil Oliver adopted Miracle from the Broward County Animal Care and Control.

Miracle has a new name, Lucky, and a new life. Her new owners describe her as "sweet" and profess that she loves everyone that she meets.

This 7-year-old dog certainly has luck on her side and her new owners have quite the story to share about their new companion.
