Dog survives life of neglect, only to wind up on death row in North Carolina (Photos)

A dog dubbed "Happy," has a body which indicates that his life has anything but...

Happy is on death row at the Vance County animal control in Henderson, N.C. Happy's body is criss-crossed with scars from old wounds. Tell-tale signs of his rough life.

Despite the evidence which points towards a dismal existence, Happy has proven himself to be sweet and gentle to those people who have met him at the animal control facility.

Sadly, Happy's future is not bright - right now, he is on death row.

The boxer mix who seems to have only known hard times appears to be resigned to his fate - as if, somehow, he does not expect anything better than what he has always known.

Happy deserves a chance to truly be "happy."
