According to Thursday's CBS 12 News, an English bulldog was severely abused by a Port St. Lucie, Fla., man who was angry that his young dog had damaged things inside of his residence.
The violent situation took place on Wednesday; police responded to a call from the girlfriend of 24-year-old Kyle Romain Hall.
According to the girlfriend, Hall had beaten the year old dog, named "Scrappy," with a sawed off shotgun and then, attempted to drown him in a bathtub when he would not stop crying. When the woman tried to stop the abuse, the man allegedly turned his rage towards her.
The woman was able to escape from the apartment to phone 9-1-1.
When officers arrived, they found Scrappy, who was "dazed and unresponsive," from being beating in the head.
The injured dog was taken to an area animal hospital for treatment - he is expected to recover from the injuries sustained in the beating. Those who have met the dog describe him as "sweet and loving," despite the abuse that he endured.
The man accused of harming Scrappy was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a short-barreled shotgun and animal cruelty.
