Dog stolen from Texas animal shelter

Irving, TX - A dog's life may be at risk right now. The dog, known as Wylie, was stolen from the Irving Animal Shelter on Saturday, around noon.

Wylie is described as an Argentine Dogo, male, 7 months of age. He is reported to be healthy and friendly. Wylie was housed at:

Irving Animal Shelter
4140 Valley View Lane
Irving, TX 75038
Phone-972-721-2256 or 972-721-2257

There is no report of exactly how the person responsible for his disappearance managed to get him out of the shelter, but the shelter is worried about Wylie and there is currently a $100 reward offered for the dog's safe return.

Per the shelter, the people that slipped Wylie out of the facility are described as,

A white male (40ish) wearing jeans, white tennis shoes, blue cap with logo and a carhart type coat. He was accompanied a blonde haired female around the same age.

Anyone with ANY information is asked to call 972-721-2259 AND email laura at lforsythe@cityofirving.org as soon as possible. Please report any and all possible leads on this dog.

Please take a moment to circulate this article with Wylie's photos, information and the shelter's information. Hopefully someone has either spotted this dog, or one of the 2 people that took him without permission.

The shelter staff is extremely worried that Wylie may have been taken to be used as a fighting dog or a bait dog. His safety is in jeopardy. Thank you for taking the time to share his information.

HOW IRRESPONSIBLE OF THIS SHELTER, who was suppose to be supervising this dog? THIS IS SO UNACCEPTABLE. They were suppose to be responsible for the care and safety of this dog. SHAME ON THIS SO CALLED SHELTER! Someone needs to be held accountable for the loss of this dog!

This dog has to be found b4 this critter is used for bait, or trained for fighting. Is there no locked compound where an animal is to be protected from this type of thing in a shelter ? It's a lesson that this shelter I hope has learned, and it won't happen again. Let's hope this puppy gets found and returned quickly.

The related link to this to the Texas newspaper has a chip in link it needs to be here so we all can see it and pitch in. I had asked on that if he is not found and returned will the $ be refunded as I really can't afford much at this time but Wylie haunts me and I want to have this boy safely returned he is beautiful so if the chip is just for Wylie I want to donate can anyone put that chip in here as this is more widely posted thanks I'm not that good with computers so I do not know how too :)!
