Texas - Finally, an upbeat, warm-fuzzy story to share with readers that are constantly bombarded with dark and unpleasant dog news. On election day, a man responding to a Craigslist ad was the victim of an armed robbery.
The man was robbed at gunpoint - the thieves stealing his car and his beloved dog, Impala. The future for Impala seemed questionable...dire in fact.
If the people that stole the vehicle were brutal enough to attack a man at gunpoint and brazenly steal a car, what would they do with an innocent dog?
But this story, unlike so many others, has a happy ending. The dog's owner, James Jefferys, decided to put up a $5000 reward for the safe return of his dog. He went to the area that the dog was stolen from and plastered the neighborhood with fliers.
After 9 days, Jefferys got a call. He went to the caller's house and sure enough - there was his beloved dog, Impala. It turns out that the dog had been discovered just 4 hours after he was initially stolen with the car. It would seem that the thieves dumped him from the car and drove away.
But the story gets even better. The family that found Impala refused the reward. They were just happy that Impala was back with his rightful owner. Compassion and humanity do still exist.

Yeah A warm and fuzzy!!! What a great family to not want a penny. One odf the many dogs I have found had been lost for a month. Tghere was a torn flyer at the post office and we called the number and the guy couldnt believe we had his dog. ( he had been missing for a month) He wanted to give us money and I said no thank you I am just happy he is home. It was a great ending for a half blind Sharpei that had lost his way.
what a wonderful ending, I'd give up my car but I'd fight the devil you are not taking my dogs.
Wonderful indeed.......so happy to hear something uplifting. Congrats to owner and Impala.

Finally a happy ending. Thanks.
wow a real heart warming story
I'm behind in reading this story but it was worth the wait! I love a happy ending. And how wonderful that the family who had Impala didn't take the reward. It would have been cool, though, if they had taken it and donated it to their local shelter.
Oops...I thought the reward was $500 instead of $5,000. Yeah, I definitely see why the family wouldn't accept it.
