A dog that only has three legs was caught on security camera stealing food from a supermarket off one of the shelves. People who were at the scene could not take their eyes off the dog because they were shocked at what he was doing. The dog bandit was later identified as a 10-year-old German Short-haired Pointer named Oscar, reported Channel 3 News.
According to police in the city of Invercargill in New Zealand, Oscar was left home alone and ran away while its owner was on vacation. So Oscar decided to take matters into his own "hands" by wandering around town to get something to eat.
The store owner, Esmay Hay, said the dog suddenly appeared out of nowhere, grabbed a dog roll from the meat chiller and made his getaway through the front door.
Five days later Oscar decided to return again to steal more food. However, the dog was caught by a store employee this time.
Oscar was taken to the local pound, where he is being kept in custody until his owner returns.
If no one comes to pick Oscar up, he will surely find a home. Ever since the story about Oscar, a dog that steals food from stores was aired, there have been a flood of calls from animal lovers asking to adopt the dog.
