Dog Show comes to Sun City Center

The Dog Owners Group of Sun City Center, Fla., will host its annual dog show Saturday, March 23, 2013, in the South Community Hall at 1910 South Pebble Beach Blvd. in Sun City Center. The dog show will feature dog contests, information tables of animal rescue groups, displays by businesses of pet related merchandise and services and concessions with homemade baked goods.

Among the 70 dogs signed up for the contests are mixed breeds, pure breeds, small dogs, medium size dogs and a few large dogs. All contestants are owned by residents of Sun City Center. The mixed breed dogs are outnumbering the pure breeds in taking part in the contests, competing either in costume or show, this year.

The proceeds of the event will go to the Dog Owners Group that also maintains Sun City Center’s off-leash dog park, a recreation and play area, consisting of a fenced-in site for small dogs and another separated site for large dogs.

The dog show will start at 10:30 a.m. and will run for about one to two hours. Doggy guests are welcome. For directions to the Community Hall, click here.
