Dog shoots owner: Fires bullet in vehicle

How does a dog shoot his owner? According to a Feb. 27 report by The Sun, this happened in Sebring, Florida.

Gregory Lanier was driving his vehicle when his dog managed to kick his gun onto the floorboard -- accidentally firing a bullet that hit his leg. The police report states that Lanier “heard a boom, saw smoke and felt a burning in his leg."

Much to the dog owner's surprise, the gun was loaded and turned out to be a 9mm weapon.

The report went on to say that the dog wasn't arrested, but an investigation into the incident is being conducted. Obviously the pooch didn't mean to harm his owner and authorities are considering this an accident.

Another incident involving a dog happened not too long ago in Florida when a Boxer dog got into the driver's seat of his owner's car as he was opening the driveway gate. The dog put the van in reverse gear, running over his owner and killing him. Read more about that tragedy here.

When pets mess around with the wrong devices, they can prove dangerous or fatal for humans. Clearly loaded guns and running cars don't mix well with dogs.
