Dog seized from fighting operation in need of a home

Ruthie Ann has a sad and painful past...she survived what no dog should ever have to endure.

The beleaguered pit bull was one of 15 dogs seized from a dog fighting operation in Flomaton, Ala.

Tragically, of those dogs, Ruthie Ann and three other females are all that are still alive today.

The dogs seized from the property, amazingly where a church was being operated, were malnourished, diseased and abused; it was easily apparent that life for all of the dogs was difficult, and sad.

Despite Ruthie Ann's despicable past, she has maintained a friendly personality. Ruthie Ann is estimated to be six years of age and aside from being heartworm positive, she is healthy.

Unfortunately, nobody has expressed an interest in Ruthie Ann - and her time at the Humane Society of Escambia County has run out. Losing her life now, after all that she has managed to survive, is unthinkable.

Anyone who can help Ruthie Ann is asked to contact The Humane Society of Escambia County, Alabama at 251-296-2275, or email reneecorrelljones@gmail.com
