On Wednesday night, a beer distributor was robbed in Pittsburgh, Pa., and a dog at the store is credited with chasing the men away, reported Thursday's WPXI News.
The frightening incident took place at Caruso Beer, just as the establishment was being closed for the night. Two men who entered the store came after the business owner, Sam Caruso, hitting him over the head with a brick.
Thankfully for Caruso, his daughter's dog, a Belgian Malinois named "Cocoa," was there to make sure that the attack did not continue - successfully chasing the men out of the building.
Unfortunately, after they were gone, the heroic dog disappeared as well.
According to CBS Pittsburgh, Cocoa was so riled up after the incident that Caruso was unable to call her back into the store.
Cocoa does not have any tags on right now because she chewed them off, but she does have a microchip.
Cocoa's guardian, Shari, told CBS Pittsburgh:
She was protecting my dad, who got mugged, and chased the perpetrators away,
She’s just the perfect dog. She’s a great family dog, but she’ll protect you, and that’s what she did.
Anyone who believes that they have seen the missing dog is asked call Caruso Beer at (412) 321-1800.
