Dog's family sues vet for $1 million

One of the most bizarre cases this year has involved a Fort Worth veterinarian who has been accused of keeping family pets alive. One appears to have been used for blood transfusions.

The family agreed that the best thing for their dog who suffered from a congenital spine defect was to be humanely euthanized. But six months later, they learned he was still alive. Being held in a kennel and deteriorating from conditions there. After the family retrieved their dog, another vet told them their dog did not even have the spinal defect.

Lawyers representing the Harris family are now suing Camp Bowie Animal Clinic's head veterinarian for $1 million. The vet also faces cruelty charges.
