Update 8/27/13: Reclaimed by owner who realized that the fault was not with the dog. Doughnut is safe!
Doughnut, a three-year-old American bulldog, recently grabbed the ankle of a stranger at his home and in return, he was taken back to the same animal control facility from which he had been adopted from two months prior.
Granted, the ankle that Doughnut grabbed belonged to the family's gardener, but Doughnut had no way of knowing that the stranger in his yard was someone who had been invited.
Rather than praising their dog for showing great bite-inhibition (Doughnut grabbed, but did not break the skin), the owner returned Doughnut to the always-crowded Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Lancaster, Calif.
Doughnut is now in great danger - not only is he an adult "bully" breed, but he has a ding on his record thanks to his former family's recount of what took place with the gardener - as such, Doughnut is "rescue only."
If Doughnut is to have any hope of walking free from this facility, he needs the help of strangers who are willing to share his information.
