"Dog Parking It!", a recently published book by certified dog trainer Gail S. Green, offers a comprehensive guide to fenced dog parks in California.
A result after one year of traveling in the Golden State and visiting 235 fenced dog parks from Redding to Chula Vista,
"Dog Parking It!" serves to inform and educate dog owners about their local dog parks and other related resources.
Organized alphabetically by counties, then cities in each county, and finally dog parks in each city, Green reviews each dog park in a short, easy to read description while listing amenities, local veterinary clinic, as well as concerns.
Twyla, Green's Border Terrier mix and sidekick, accompanied the author on the expedition and assisted her efforts by "testing" and "rating" every dog park. Twyla's opinions, the ones shared by the author, are featured in the book and offers valuable insights. Some of Twyla's concerns include the lack of a small dog area, shade, and disabled access.
Green is a certified professional dog trainer and co-founder of Ohlone Dog Park in Berkeley, CA, the first fenced dog park in the U.S. She lives in Richmond with her partner and spouse Dannie and their pets: Twyla and a parakeet named Hatch.
