A black Labrador retriever mix was attacked with a machete in Detroit, Mich., and today, there is a hefty reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible, reported Wednesday's CBS Detroit News.
The vicious attack took place on August 24, leaving the dog with multiple, severe injuries to his legs and feet.
Witnesses claim that someone hit the dog, dubbed "Charlie" by his rescuers, several times with the machete, unfortunately, no one is willing, as of yet, to reveal who is behind the crime.
The incident was reported to the MHS Cruelty Investigation Hotline, prompting an investigation, but thus far, the leads have run dry.
The injured dog is recovering from the attack at the Detroit Center for Animal Care - employees are hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
Anyone who has tips or information about this crime is asked to call the Michigan Humane Society Cruelty Hotline at 313-872-3401.
A $2,500 reward has been offered by the Michigan Humane Society for information leading to the arrest/conviction of the person(s) responsible for this brutal crime.
