Dog lover making a difference

"Nobody can fully understand love unless he's been owned by a dog," a Gene Hill quote lived daily in the life of Littleton, CO resident Kelly Kaliszewski, founder of Wishcuit.com.  Kelly's deep love for her beloved American Bulldog, Cain, was the force that drove Kelly to look within to uncover who she was and what was most important to her.  Kelly found the purpose of her life because of Cain.  Cain's diagnosis with cancer ignited the need for Kelly to find a means to eliminate canine cancer and through the launch of Wishcuit hopes future dogs and dog owners will be spared the pain, sorrow and loss she and Cain experienced.

Creation of Wishcuit

Days after Cain's diagnosis, Kelly and Cain were enjoying time on the patio when Kelly began doodling on a sheet of paper what she was feeling in her heart. She thought about the difficult days they would face together.  Kelly quietly sat listening to her heart and at that moment knew what she was supposed to do.  In a recent interview Kelly shared, "I listened to my heart and I found my true purpose in life."  Her heartfelt doodle portrayed the universal love shared between dogs and owners.  A simple stick drawing changed the direction of her life. Her willingness to not only listen but pursue her passion created a company focused on providing resources to deliver greater welfare and improvement for all dog's lives through campaigns that raise awareness and funds.

Love Adds Up

To commemorate the one-year anniversary of Cain's death on November 12th, 2010, Wishcuit will launch the nationwide "Love Adds Up" campaign.  The goal is to raise one million dollars through the sale of stickers and magnets, portraying the sketch responsible for the launch of the company. So many dogs need help.  There are tremendous financial needs for medical research, rescue and shelter assistance.  The campaign is an easy, simple way to help tremendous amounts of dogs and organizations.  Currently, Wishcuit provides financial support to animal societies, cancer centers and humane societies in Colorado and Utah, but the "Love Adds Up" campaign is an opportunity to spread the word - help it build.
