Sophie, a beautiful, black Labrador retriever mix, is in need of a new family.
As 2013 began, this lovely four-year-old dog lost the only family that she has ever known. Her prior owner's health had deteriorated to the point that caring for Sophie was no longer possible.
Faced with the prospect of having to surrender their beloved dog to a shelter, the owner turned to the one and only person who had expressed an interest in helping...Sophie's prior trainer.
The trainer, named Tracy, is not able to keep Sophie long-term, but she knew that Sophie could not go to a shelter where her life might be in jeopardy.
Now, she is hoping to find this special dog a loving, new family.
Information on Sophie:
- Weight - approx 100 pounds
- Age - 4 years
- Good with other large breed dogs (prefers males over females)
- Loves to play with stuffed animals
- House-trained
- House dog (indoor only)
- Affectionate (described as a very large "lap" dog)
- Enjoys the company of men more than the company of women
- Appears to have a wheat allergy - currently on a special wheat-free dog food
- Due to size, would be best in a home with older children
- Protective of her home
- Loves car rides
