Dog is terrified to walk into animal control - another owner dump

Update 5/16/14: Perico has been rescued!!

On Wednesday, May 14, a three-year-old German shepherd mix named "Perico" was taken for a ride by his owner. The destination for Perico was not the park, the groomer or even the was far worse and by journey's end, Perico seemed to know.

The walk into the San Bernardino City Animal Control in Calif., was captured on video and suffice to say, it is heartbreaking. Perico knows that whatever is behind the doors of the building is bad - he can sense that he will be alone, and in peril, soon.

The man surrendering Perico has to drag the cowering dog through the parking lot - at one point, Perico sits down and refuses to budge...his terror is absolute.

Perico's instincts were spot on - he is now impounded at the facility - another face, another number, another dog whose life is in the hands of strangers. Perico did not ask to be put into this life-or-death situation and what happens next is out of his control. Please take a moment to network this young dog's information before he is lost forever.
