Dog found in TX was reunited with owner in PA thanks to microchip

Last Friday, an animal control officer in Houston, Texas found a German shepherd named Roxy. Once she arrived at the BARC animal shelter, they checked her for a microchip. They were shocked to see that Roxy belonged to a man named Dan Loefflad in Allentown, PA.

Roxy traveled over 1,400 miles away when she was taken by the grandchild of the owner without consent.

"Microchips are the answer," says Ashton Rivet, BARC brand development coordinator. "It is absolutely the difference between being reunited with them and not being reunited with them."

Roxy flew back home via United Airlines and arrived safely Sunday afternoon around 4:30. Loefflad is very relieved and happy to have his beloved dog back home.
