Dog disappears after terrible crash on Washington interstate (Photos)

A brindle and white whippet named "Steeler," disappeared after a bad car accident on Interstate 5 near Centralia, Wash., on Tuesday.

According to Wednesday's KATU News, Steeler was one of several dogs in a truck which was involved in the Tuesday afternoon accident. The crash left one of the truck's occupants hospitalized with a broken leg.

The other dogs in the truck were unscathed, but Steeler vanished.

Right now, dozens of friends and family of Steeler's owner, Don Rodgers, are searching the area.

With the cold temperatures, those searching are hopeful that Steeler has found some type of shelter to keep warm.

Those looking for Steeler warn that he may be skittish and run if approached. Instead, please call: Penny at: 360-600-1849 (no text) or Rachel at 360-520-0375.
