This Sunday, August 17th, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm, come enjoy an afternoon of fun at West Seattle Nursery and Garden Center. The largest adoption event so far, the Dog Days of Summer Beer fest benefits the Furry Faces Foundation (F3).
Three local dog rescue groups—AARF, Emerald City Pet Rescue and Tiny Dog Rescue—will be on site with adoptable dogs. However, this event is not just for the dogs! South County Cats will also be there with their kittens, cats, as well as information on how to care for “community cats” through trap, neuter and return. There may also be Catahoula pups! Find out more about this gorgeous breed here.
Making special guest appearances will be Oskar the Blind Cat and The Klaus. They will be there showing off their soon to be released book and to help all the animals find forever homes. They are very excited that there will be some sight-impaired, adoptable dogs in attendance. You can watch a video of them playing here, from 2011.
This is also West Seattle Nursery’s Fall Sale Kickoff! You can enjoy 15% - 50% off selected items, and there will be a clearance tent. Hot dogs and beer will be served by F3. In addition, just in case you need a pet ID tag, there will be onsite pet ID tag engraving. There will also be a special performance by Tim Scallon on guitar and vocals.
“This is our annual opportunity to help dogs and cats find loving homes…and we love it!” says Marcia, manager of West Seattle Nursery & Garden Center.
So, come on out! Have a beer and hot dog, enjoy some savings inside, meet the adoptable animals (and some animal celebrities!), purchase a pet ID tag for your pet, and enjoying the music and vocals of Tim Scallon, F3’s popular, Official Musician!
