Get ready for a dog-gone good time with your best friend, tomorrow, Aug. 25. The Historic Round Barn and the Adams County SPCA will be holding its third Annual Dog Days of Summer Event. Proceeds will benefit local non-profit pet friendly organizations.
The event will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. at the Historic Round Barn & Farmer's Market, in Biglerville and run until 4:30 p.m. Come on out, bring your faithful companion, and have an all out dog day of summer!
Highlights for the event include adoptable pets on site, educational speeches and presentations on pet care, special pet products for sale, local service dog groups and various demonstrations. Demonstrations will be conducted by the United We Fly Flyball team, at 12:15 p.m.; there will be a Dog Obedience and Rally Demonstration, at 12:45 p.m.; a Search and Rescue Demonstration, at 1:15 p.m., and a Noseworks Demonstration, a new K-9 sport, at 2:15 p.m.
Other exciting markers on the schedule lineup include the “shop or test your pouch at Rally and Noseworks, DYI grooming techniques and various onsite groups offering helpful tips and advice. Participants to this event will include: 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Clubs, Hounds of Prison Education (HOPE), Susquehanna Service Dogs, Knick Knack Pittie Pack Rescue Group and of course the Adams County SPCA.
