Dog confiscated after being left to starve: Abbie now in high kill shelter

Abbie, a Great Dane and Labrador retriever mix, was left abandoned in a home with no food or water. The other dog in the home, Abbie's bonded companion, was humanely euthanized after his organs shut down from the egregious neglect. Somehow Abbie survived.

Both dogs were confiscated by the San Bernardino City Animal Control; Abbie waits until her release date since both dogs had been micro chipped. On May 22 will she die?

For the past few weeks, life hasn't been easy for this dog; once loved because her disposition is so sweet, but the recent losses in her life shows in her extremely depressed nature.

A volunteer who interacted with Abbie states she is not aggressive at all and good with other dogs.

Over $400 has been pledged to help a qualified rescue on Abbie's behalf.
