Dog cloning: Woman meets cloned dog for the first time

A woman in Britain recently met her new puppy -- a clone of her current dog. According to a video report by GeoBeats, Rebecca Smith from London won a contest and the prize was a clone of her beloved dog, Winnie. The procedure is done by a biotech company in Seoul, South Korea and would normally cost about $100,000.

Previously Smith would joke about cloning her pup who is 12-years-old. When she heard about the contest, however, that joke became a reality. Smith really wanted to try it out -- and that's just what ended up happening.

After winning the contest, Winnie's tissue samples were sent halfway around the world. The new dog -- named "mini Winnie" was born via c-section after an implantation process. Smith has met the tiny pup but she is too little to go back home with her just yet. Smith is over joyed and she's really excited to get her new bundle home. Check out the video above for more.
