According to Wednesday's Bradenton Herald, a dog who was being walked by a child in Bradenton, Fla., was shot by a boy who was riding a bicycle.

The dog, who was shot near an apartment complex in the 4800 block of 48th Street West, was taken to a veterinarian for a wound to the head.

Tragically, the dog who was the victim of the seemingly random act of violence, is not expected to survive the injury.

According to the report, the weapon used on the dog was a BB gun - the child walking the dog was unable to provide a good description of the youth who shot the gun from his bicycle.
