This is Buddy, a boxer beauty who had hopefully found his way out of Paws to the Rescue Marion County Animal Shelter and into a forever home.

Buddy was adopted recently from the Mullin, South Carolina shelter. He was ready to begin a new life with a family who really loved him. Unfortunately their other dog was jealous, which resulted in several fights at his new home.

Sadly, Buddy's loving family had to return him to Paws to the Rescue on August 4, his face broken and bruised. Buddy lost a couple of teeth, and he also has a puncture wound all the way through to his chin. That wound was stitched up, but has become infected. It has to be flushed multiple times a day. Right now the worry is whether Buddy will lose the front part of his chin.

Buddy's had a hard life. his first owner had to turn him in to the shelter, no longer able to care for this sweet boy. He was underweight and needed a forever family to take him home and show him some love.

At the shelter, Buddy did well around other dogs, as well as cats. It's unfortunate, but many dogs won't tolerate a new dog coming into their home.

A donation webpage has been set up here, where the goal has been increased by $400. Paws to the Rescue is a 501 ©3 non-profit organization organization, meaning all donations are tax deductible.

If you have ANY questions about their donation policies, or about the care Buddy is receiving, please do not hesitate to contact them at pttrinfo@gmail.com. More information can also be found on their Facebook page.

Please share Buddy's story with friends, with the hope Buddy will recover from his injuries without any more complications.
