As the government shutdown became reality, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) became an increasing target by the Democratic Party. Cruz' choice of healthcare has now come under the fire of the Democrats who hope to make him the poster child of hypocrisy as he rails against ObamaCare.
Gary Martin's article in the Houston Chronicle reported that Cruz has come under increasing fire for having an insurance policy under his wife's employer, Goldman Sachs. First in defense of Cruz, isn't part of ObamaCare to be able to keep your current insurance regardless of who supplies it? One Cruz aide said with regard to Cruz's healthcare choice "A person's healthcare is none of the government's business. "
As the Democrats feign outrage over Cruz's healthcare choice, they may want to look at their own hypocrisy. Congress as most Americans know are not required to be part of ObamaCare.
If ObamaeCare is repealed, it would mean that Congress would need to go back to work to fulfill Cruz's vision.
"I am working to make sure the government stays open and Americans receive the same benefits as giant corporations and Congress under ObamaCare."
Rhetorically speaking ObamaCare went into effect as of nine hours ago so what difference has it made for the Democrats to attack Cruz's healthcare choice? Oh wait, I know. The blame game can continue and nothing will be done for the American people which exactly why Ted Cruz began this battle.
"This is exactly the kind of D.C. based thinking that makes Americans disdain Washington D.C."
