Does Oklahoma City need a satanic monument at the Capital?

Well, this was bound to happen. There is a Ten Commandment display on the lawn of the Oklahoma City capital; now Satanist want to be represented with their own monument there also. The display may also include a pentagram and an interactive display for children. Parents should ask themselves if this is the kind of thing they want their children exposed to.

Satanists, and it is rumored Buddhists also want a display at the Capital, are using the false notion that all religions are equal to attempt to force their monument onto the grounds of the Capital. If they cannot do that, they want to have the Ten Commandment monument removed.

Does anyone really believe satanic religion is a good thing? How many parents raise their children with the high hopes they will join a satanic church and sacrifice animals to an evil, anti-God being? Think of the feeling of pride as you announce at your high school reunion that you daughter was just named satanic high priest. No one in their right mind thinks Satanism is actually a good thing; and anyone in their right mind who promotes it is merely doing so for publicity and/or because they want to be a thorn in Christianity’s side.

Think about it for a moment. Would this satanic monument proposition even been seriously considered twenty years ago? Have you looked around at the moral condition of our society lately? Since we have forsaken our Christian foundation, since we have turned our backs on God and rejected His Lordship, the moral climate of our nation has plummeted. The television shows broadcast these days reflect the public’s overall fascination with sex, violence, adultery, and every other kind of sin which God, in His Word, clearly condemns. And we, as a nation, celebrate this evil.

If we do not turn back to God and worship Him as we were created to do, this nation will perish. It is not an ‘if’, but a ‘when’ statement. The Bible is clear about this, “But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 12:17 ESV) and, "And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it" (Jeremiah 18:9-10 ESV).

You see, many people think that they are self-sufficient and they have no need for God; but, in reality, nothing prospers for long without God. When we cut ourselves off from God, we have cut ourselves off from life, wisdom, knowledge, forgiveness, and any other good thing that exists. We have chosen failure. “Claiming to be wise, they became fools…” (Romans 1:22 ESV).

This Satanic monument is a symbol, it brings us to a crossroad, do we view God as merely a myth; do we think we are the rulers of our own existence? Or are we willing to admit what we know in our conscience; that we are accountable to God and doomed without Him? When you stand in front of Him on judgment day, it will be your choice that has made the difference in where you spend eternity.

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15 ESV).
