In season 2, the relationship between Mulan and her charge, Sleeping Beauty also known as Aurora, sometimes seemed to cross the line between friends and maybe more than friends. In the third episode of season 3, “Once Upon A Time” seemed to acknowledge that relationship and possibly confirmed what many were thinking. The episode aired on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
Neal, who was dumped into the Fairy Tale Land that is when he fell through the portal during the season 2 finale, was found by Mulan and her companions and nursed back to health. He confided to Mulan last week that he still loved Emma.
This week, Mulan helped him enact a plan to get back to Neverland to rescue Emma and Henry. He mentioned regretting that he hadn’t told Emma that he loved her and that he wouldn’t make that mistake again.
When the segment ended, Mulan parted ways with Robin Hood and set out to find Aurora and Prince Philip, presumably to tell the latter that she loved him. When she arrived at the castle and was greetr4ed by a bubbly, glowing Aurora, she deferred and listened to her friend’s news – Aurora and Philip are expecting a baby!
Whether Mulan was going to confess her feelings for Aurora or was going to tell Aurora first that she had feelings for Philip remains a secret but many believe the former was the case. What do you think?
Tune in next week when “Once Upon A Time” returns on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
