Does Bigfoot Have A Sense of Humor?

See also

There have been many movies about Bigfoot or Sasquatch which portrays the big lumbering giant humanoid as a monster, a killer, and something that lurks in the dark to ambush unsuspecting backpackers. Some of the most well known movies of this genre are "The Legend of Boggy Creek", "Sasquatch-the Legend of Bigfoot", "Snow Beast", and "Snow Creature". In these movies, the Bigfoot creature picks off victims one after another terrorizing a group or town of people. These movies are fun, but could they be real? I think, probably not. If Sasquatch was this much danger to people, there would be such a tremendous search and destroy mission like we have never known.

There have been many movies where the cryptid is not the monster, but is a gentle forest creature that cares for the other animals of the forest. There is the "Bigfoot: Unforgettable Encounter", "Bigfoot-Friendship Can Get A Bit Harry", and my favorite "Harry and the Hendersons" which portray the Bigfoot as a big lumbering, kind, but misunderstood hairy human creatures. Unfortunately, these movies show Sasquatch as being nothing more than big teddy bears that are very loveable. Again, if this was true, the Bigfoot would not exist because they would have been captured and exploited or incorporated into society. They would be much like the Neanderthal man who was not wiped out, but was actually bred out. Neanderthal DNA has been found in modern man which indicates they were absorbed by Humans.

So where does Bigfoot stand? They don’t seem to be aggressive enough for man to have hunted them down and wiped they out, but we know they are not all that friendly either which would seem to indicate they fall somewhere in between. They don’t want anything to do with most humans, and they do display intimidating characteristics to scare human intruders away. Bigfoot researchers had been reporting many of these traits, and there are many reports of habituation. Habituation is where an understanding or relationship is developed between humans and Bigfoot to coexist. Human Habituators report some trade or acceptance between the two species.

One Bigfoot was observed to be walking down the trail, chest out, while showing off their stuff, and some whistle tunes. The Sasquatch has been observed to show surprise, wonderment, anger, curiosity, and kindness. Bigfoot researchers now believe they also have a sense of humor. Case in point, they play a form of ring the door bell and run or slap the bull and run with humans. When all humans are asleep, the Bigfoot runs through the camp slapping the tents to disappear into the bushes. You know they are in the bushes rolling in laughter.
