Does ‘Bachelorette’ Andi Dorfman’s dad approve of her final pick?

On Monday, Parade posted preview clips of tonight’s bloated, three-hour episode, which shows Andi’s final two guys, Josh Murray and Nick Viall, dishing on their hometown meetings with their possible future in-laws, Hy and Patti Dorfman.

Murray’s past career as a baseball player doesn’t exactly impress Andi’s dad, who memorably gave his daughter’s ex-soccer pro beau Juan Pablo Galavis the third degree on last season’s edition of “The Bachelor.” Indeed, Hy Dorfman has Andi’s new man so nervous he’s sweating bullets. "He is so nervous. This guy doesn't have a prayer,” Hy says of Murray in the video.

And based on the preview of Viall’s meeting with Andi’s no-nonsense dad, it doesn’t seem to go much better for him. In the clip, a nervous Nick gets stared down by Hy as he asks for permission for Andi’s hand in marriage. Cue up the raised eyebrows from dad and this summary from Nick: “This date is not going as smoothly and as well as I’d hoped.”

Fans of “The Bachelor” franchise may recall that last season Hy Dorfman didn’t give Juan Pablo Galavis permission to marry his daughter. Andi went on to dump Galavis after spending the night with him in the Fantasy Suite, but some viewers thought her dad was a bit harsh to the Venezuelan single dad.

At the time, longtime “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison told TV Guide he could relate to the protective dad’s reaction when his daughter was one of the four final women Galavis was dating.

“Hy is awesome,” he said. “I always think of how I'd act if my daughter brought a guy home, and it was this scenario and he spoke for all us dads out there … I don't think Hy was rude at all, but brutally and lovingly honest which is what made Juan Pablo take the direction as more endearing than [thinking] he was a jerk.”

After last season's hometown episode, Hy Dorfman tweeted, “If I seemed over protective on the show, it is because I am protecting the most spectacular, special, amazing daughter in the world.”

Now that the tables are turned and his daughter is the one calling the shots, it will be interesting to see if Hy gives either of these guys his blessing.

The three-hour “Bachelorette” season finale airs on Monday, July 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
